Final Olympic Qualification for 2010

Last week, Janis Sprukts received the O.K. from the Panthers and Amerks to return home to serve as the captain of the Latvian national team as they attempt to qualify for next winter's Olympic Games.

This is the final Olympic qualification tournament, and it begins today. There are twelve teams split in to three groups (Group E, Group F and Group G). The top team from each group qualifies for the Olympics next February.

Teams in red are host of their group.

Latvia will play Hungary today at 7:00 PM local time. For us, that's noon. So that game is starting in about ten minutes. Tomorrow, Latvia will face the Ukraine and then on Sunday, Italy. So, check back if you're interested. I'll keep updates.
